Do I have to use centimeters?
No. The classification uses proportions, so inches work equally well when every measurement uses inches. The displayed field labels say centimeters to encourage one consistent unit.
Where should I measure my waist?
Measure the natural waist, usually the narrowest point between the bottom rib and the top of the hip bone. Keep the tape horizontal and avoid drawing in your abdomen.
Why is my result close to two categories?
Body shapes lie on a continuum and the category thresholds are approximate. Repeat your measurements and focus on the actual proportions if a small change switches the label.
Does body shape determine health risk?
No, a silhouette category does not diagnose health or disease. Waist-to-hip ratio can be one screening measure, but a clinician interprets it alongside many other factors.
Can my body shape change?
Yes, body composition, aging, pregnancy, training, and weight change can alter circumferences. Bone structure also contributes, so some underlying proportions may remain stable.
