Multiply length, width, and height to find volume, convert that volume to cubic meters, and multiply by density. Quantity then multiplies the volume and weight of one object.
Are the material densities exact?
No, they are typical planning values. Alloy, moisture, porosity, composition, temperature, and manufacturing method can change actual density, so supplier data is preferable.
Can I calculate a hollow box?
Not directly with one set of dimensions because this model assumes a solid prism. Subtract the inner void from outer volume or calculate the individual walls before applying density.
Why are both kilograms and pounds shown?
Kilograms match the density input and SI volume calculation. Pounds provide a convenient conversion for shipping and handling, but both represent the same estimated mass.
Is this the same as dimensional shipping weight?
No, dimensional weight is a carrier pricing method based on package size and a tariff divisor. This calculator estimates physical mass from material density instead.
