Money Factor Calculator FAQ
How do I convert a money factor to an interest rate?
Multiply the money factor by 2400. A factor of 0.00175 is a 4.20 percent equivalent rate. Divide a percent rate by 2400 to get the factor.
Which input wins if I enter both rate and factor?
The money factor is used whenever it is present. Leave it blank if you only have an interest rate and want the calculator to convert it.
Is capitalized cost the same as MSRP?
No. Capitalized cost is the negotiated amount being leased, after discounts and items rolled into the lease. MSRP is only a sticker starting point.
Does the payment include sales tax?
No. Many states tax the monthly payment or the cap-cost reduction separately. Add tax using local lease-tax rules after you have the pretax payment.
What is included in total lease cost?
It is monthly payment times term, plus the down payment and fees you entered. Mileage penalties, wear charges, and residual shortfalls at turn-in are extra.
