Period calculator FAQ
How is the next period date calculated?
The calculator adds your average cycle length to the first day of your latest period. Actual timing may differ because cycles naturally vary.
How do I find my average cycle length?
Count days from the first day of one period through the day before the next begins for several cycles. Add those lengths and divide by the number recorded.
Is the predicted fertile window accurate?
It is only a calendar estimate based on ovulation occurring about fourteen days before the next period. Ovulation may happen earlier, later, or not at all in a given cycle.
Can I use this calculator as birth control?
No, calendar prediction alone is not reliable contraception. Discuss effective contraceptive options with a qualified healthcare professional.
When should irregular periods be evaluated?
Seek advice for persistent major changes, very heavy or prolonged bleeding, severe pain, or cycles repeatedly outside the expected range. A clinician can evaluate pregnancy, medications, hormonal causes, and other conditions.
