CASH Act Stimulus FAQ
Did the CASH Act become law?
Not in this simplified $2,000 form. The enacted second-round payment was $600, and a later round used $1,400. This page is a proposal estimator for comparison, not a payment record.
Why $2,000 plus $1,000 per dependent?
That is the simplified structure implemented here so you can see a larger-check scenario. Legislative drafts varied on who counted as a dependent and whether a spouse received a full adult amount.
Is filing status included?
No. The phase-out always starts at $75,000 of AGI. Joint filers in many 2020 proposals would have used a higher start, so married households will look more phased-out here than under a full bill.
Can I claim this amount now?
No. There is no current IRS program paying this CASH Act figure. Do not use the result on a return, in a refund claim, or as evidence of a missed deposit.
