Some award 4.33 for an A+, some use different plus and minus values, and some exclude pass/fail, withdrawn, repeated, remedial, or audited courses. Honors weighting commonly used in secondary schools may raise advanced-course points above 4.0, whereas most colleges keep undergraduate semester calculations on an unweighted scale. The semester figure uses only courses taken during one academic term. Cumulative GPA combines eligible work across all terms, normally by adding all quality points and dividing by all GPA credits rather than averaging semester GPAs.
