That gives route length in blocks. Route length is multiplied by active houses per block, with partial houses rounded down because a group cannot visit part of a stop. Finally, houses visited is multiplied by average candy per house. For example, two hours at four blocks per hour covers eight blocks. If twenty homes participate on each block and each provides three pieces, the estimate is 160 houses and 480 pieces. Treat every input as a planning average rather than a guarantee. Walking pace includes time spent crossing streets, waiting at doors, talking to neighbors, adjusting costumes, and taking breaks. A group may walk quickly between blocks but still complete fewer blocks because busy porches create lines. Younger children, large groups, elaborate costumes, hills, and poor weather generally reduce the sustainable pace.
