What makes a right triangle special?
Its angle measures create a fixed ratio among all three sides. Knowing one side is therefore enough to determine the remaining sides.
What is the 30-60-90 side ratio?
The sides opposite 30, 60, and 90 degrees have ratio 1 to square root of 3 to 2. The hypotenuse is exactly twice the shortest leg.
What is the 45-45-90 side ratio?
The two legs are equal and the hypotenuse is one leg times square root of 2. This is the same relationship between a square's side and diagonal.
Why are the answers rounded?
Square roots of 2 and 3 are irrational and have nonterminating decimal expansions. The calculator shows six decimal places while using full precision internally.
