Divide the medication amount by the final liquid volume. This calculator uses the entered diluent volume as the final volume, so manufacturer displacement information must be applied separately when relevant.
Does powder displacement affect the answer?
Yes, some products produce a final volume larger than the added diluent volume. Use the manufacturer's stated resulting concentration or final volume whenever it is provided.
Can I use grams or micrograms?
Convert both the vial amount and desired dose to the same mass unit before calculating. The current fields expect milligrams, with one gram equal to 1,000 milligrams.
