Why does weight/volume conversion not need density?
Weight/volume percentage already gives solute mass for a known solution volume. It can be scaled directly from grams per 100 milliliters to grams per liter.
Which density should I use for weight/weight percent?
Use the density of the complete solution at the relevant concentration and temperature. Solvent density alone may give an inaccurate conversion.

Use the density of the liquid solute to convert its stated volume into mass. The value should match the temperature and purity of the material.
Is molarity the same as molality?
