What does ppm mean in a fertilizer solution?
Parts per million describes a very small concentration. For dilute water solutions, 1 ppm is commonly treated as 1 milligram of nutrient per liter.
Which fertilizer percentage should I enter?
Enter the percentage corresponding to the nutrient targeted by your recipe. Check whether the recipe uses a label value or an elemental nutrient value before calculating.
Can I use this for a fertilizer injector?
The displayed result applies to the final solution volume and concentration. For an injector stock tank, account for the injector dilution ratio and verify the resulting feed concentration.
Why is the product mass greater than the nutrient mass?
Commercial fertilizer contains carriers and other nutrients in addition to the selected nutrient. Dividing by the nutrient fraction converts the pure nutrient requirement into total product mass.
Does one liter of water always weigh one kilogram?
It is a useful approximation near ordinary temperatures for dilute solutions. This calculator works from final liquid volume, so very concentrated stock solutions may require more detailed density-based preparation.
