It assumes each rib is a semicircle whose diameter equals the house width. Gothic or straight-wall profiles require their actual developed hoop length.
Why is one hoop added after dividing by spacing?
A run of bays needs a hoop at both ends. Rounding up the bay count and adding one ensures spacing does not exceed the entered maximum.
Does cover area include end walls?
No, the result covers the curved roof and sides along the structure length. Add end-wall film, doors, and overlaps according to the chosen design.
Can this determine safe hoop spacing?
No, spacing must come from a proven design suitable for local wind and snow loads. The calculator only applies the spacing you enter.
Does tubing include ridge poles and bracing?
No, tubing is the combined length of primary hoops only. Add purlins, ground posts, braces, and connection allowances separately.
