About the monster hunt estimator

This calculator is an unofficial planning model inspired by monster hunting in The Witcher setting. It turns a set of player and target values into repeatable estimates for damage, target health, time, experience, gold, and defensive readiness. It is not connected to a game server and does not claim to reproduce a specific released title or patch exactly. Its purpose is to make comparisons transparent: changing one input always changes the estimate through the same visible assumptions. Each monster type begins with a different base-health and reward profile. Monster level adds health and scales the XP and gold estimates. Difficulty multiplies target health and rewards: Easy uses 0.8, Normal uses 1, Hard uses 1.25, and Death March uses 1.5. Estimated damage per hit starts with weapon damage, then applies a player-level factor, potion percentage, and a five-percent bonus for each point of sign intensity. Hunt time assumes two effective hits per second and divides estimated health by that damage rate. The defensive-readiness figure divides armor rating by monster level and the difficulty multiplier. It is a comparison index rather than a probability of survival. A larger value indicates more armor relative to the selected encounter, but it does not account for dodges, resistances, signs, healing, enemy attack patterns, or player skill. Likewise, XP and gold are synthetic planning values based on each monster profile, not guaranteed in-game rewards or contract payouts. Use the model to compare loadouts under identical assumptions. For example, calculate an encounter with no potion, record the result, then add the potion bonus without changing other fields. The difference isolates the modeled impact of that consumable. You can repeat the process for weapon upgrades, sign investment, higher difficulty, or a different target. Comparisons are more meaningful than treating one estimate as an authoritative prediction. Real combat systems include critical hits, random damage ranges, resistances, oils, skills, animation timing, enemy phases, and balance changes. Those mechanics can produce outcomes that differ substantially from this simplified estimate. Check current game documentation when an exact value matters. This tool deliberately avoids random rolls so fixtures and repeated calculations remain deterministic, making it useful as a lightweight scenario worksheet rather than a combat simulator.
