What does HH:MM:SS:FF mean?
The fields represent hours, minutes, seconds, and frames. The final field resets whenever one full nominal second of frames has elapsed.
Does this calculator support 23.976 fps?
Yes, and it displays labels on a nominal 24-frame timebase. The decimal duration still uses the exact 23.976 playback rate.
Is this drop-frame timecode?
No, the displayed code is non-drop-frame timecode. Drop-frame labeling requires a separate counting rule for rates such as 29.97 fps.
Are video frames discarded in drop-frame timecode?
No actual pictures are removed. Only selected timecode numbers are skipped so labels remain close to clock time.
Why does my editing timeline start at one hour?
Many production workflows use 01:00:00:00 as a program start convention. Add that project-specific offset after converting a frame count that starts at zero.
