Is the ellipse perimeter exact?
The displayed perimeter uses Ramanujan's highly accurate approximation. Unlike a circle circumference, a general ellipse perimeter has no elementary exact formula.
What does eccentricity mean?
Eccentricity describes how elongated an ellipse is. Zero represents a circle, while values closer to one represent narrower ellipses.
