Frequently asked questions
How do I find cube volume?
Multiply the edge length by itself three times. An edge of 4 therefore gives a volume of 64 cubic units.
What is the difference between face and space diagonal?
A face diagonal crosses one square face and uses the square root of two. A space diagonal passes through the cube interior and uses the square root of three.
How can surface area determine edge length?
Divide the total surface area by six to get one face area. Take the positive square root of that face area to recover the edge.
What units should I use?
Any consistent measurement system works. Lengths use linear units, surface area uses square units, and volume uses cubic units.
Why are diagonal results decimals?
Cube diagonals usually include an irrational square root. Their decimal forms are approximations rounded for practical display.
