LWA Calculator FAQ
Was LWA always $300 per week?
Most participating states paid $300. Enter the amount your agency actually paid if it differed. Do not enter the expired $600 CARES supplement in the LWA field.
Did every claimant qualify?
No. States set rules, including a common $100 minimum weekly benefit. This calculator does not enforce eligibility.
How many weeks should I enter?
Enter only weeks the state certified for LWA, often up to six. Extra claimed weeks without LWA certification should stay out of the week count.
Are LWA payments taxable?
Federal tax treatment followed unemployment rules. This total is pre-tax. Apply withholding separately if you need a net figure.
What belongs in additional benefits?
One-time extras such as a separate supplement or an adjustment that is not weekly LWA. Leave the field blank or zero if you have none.
